Challenge Briefing

Saturday morning was spent at the Challenge Briefing at City Hall.
We got there just in time, and the queue had already formed by then. After the necessary registration procedures, we collected the stuff they gave us and proceeded to the auditorium for the proper Briefing.

Here's Ain and Taariq looking all engrossed and serious.

Well the Briefing was pretty quick I think, time seemed to pass really quickly. It ended at 10am, which was rather early though. We were all completely thrilled about this race, yet we felt kinda discouraged looking at our competition. There would be a total of 98 students teams taking part in this race, and we're one of them. Many of these teams come from teritiary institutions, which is incredibly freaky 'cos they've got both the brains and the brawns.

The four of us then headed off to Marina Square's Macs to study. And to strategise for the Challenge earlier too.

When we got there, we did some planning and all, and crapped a lot, and then we did our work, and resulted in taking lotsa crappy photos in the end. We were playing around with the Coupling function on Karen's camera, so here's something we tried out.

Double pen: Dark brown and blue ink at the same time!

Group photo! Too bad the table part didn't fit properly!

After spending too much time at Macs, we adjourned to the very huge food court 'cos we wanted to get some proper lunch. Macs was beginning to make me feel queasy, I don't know why. The food court was fantastic, we sat outdoors where we had a view, and we continued our photo frenzy. Both Karen and I took lotsa shots, which I will post up here slowly in the days to come when I have the time and patience to arrange them. Had a couple of nice shots of the scene that day. Of Karen and Ain and Taariq.

Here's my lunch. I was trying to take a shot from an angle that'll look like it was from a cookbook. And the one after is Karen's Ramen. Ah.. its making me hungry now as I look at it.

We lazed around at the foodcourt 'cos the setting was really comfortable, and the wind was in our hair and we felt really tired after all that eating. And then we continued to take more shots of each other before we left for the arcade! Along the way we went into shops and looked around, and then we finally ended up at the arcade, where we played the Jurassic Park shooting game. We died a couple of times and we kept pushing in more coins to continue. Haha, what losers we are.

We kept freaking out inside the tiny space that the four of us squeezed into, and Karen was shrieking away 'cos the dinosaurs were really scary. Plus the superb sound effects blasting in your ears. It was great fun.

Yeah, as promised I'd post up the shots up here in the following few days. I really have to go turn in now 'cos I have school tomorrow and I'm not as lucky as some of you idiots who have the privilege of starting school later (or not having school at all, kephy) 'cos of the World Cup Finals. What the hell man. I wanna watch so badly too!

Okay, so you idiots enjoy the last match, and don't come bragging about it to me tomorrow alright? Stay tuned for more shots!
