Choir!

I finally decided to join the choir in Meridian in the end. I don't know if it's me trying to take the easy way out, but so far it's not been easy at all. I've got 3 songs to learn by next week and so far I'm only done with 2. And that's just knowing the notes, I haven't looked at the dynamics and memorised the words yet. They're saying the SYF audition is next week, so I am very worried about it. I really hope I can pull through. I have to! If not then what did I join choir for!?

Wednesday was CCA selection and I approached the choir booth. I was surprised that I didn't have to undergo a second audition. I was whisked away to the choir room and could begin singing with them right away! The first audition was back in January, and I was accepted by the choir, but I rejected the offer to join the choir.

The choir is really different from Dunman choir. Like what Yan Ping said on her blog, the styles of the conductors differ greatly, partly because one's a secondary school choir and one's a college choir. Somehow, I feel that Mr Kwei is more relaxed and he can get really lame during practices. On the other hand, Dunman choir can get really intense and most of the time it'll just overwhelm us. But really, nothing can be compared to the time we had in Dunman choir. Those memories and everything we went through together, priceless!

So yesterday was my second choir practice and I already had to perform with them! In front of 5 other choirs! It was like my first few times singing the new songs and I was really ill-prepared lah. All of us gathered at VJC and there were the choirs from HCI, NJC, AJC, VJC & TPJC. I seriously haven't seen so many choirs perform one after another in one sitting before, so it was really an eye-opener. And us, MJC, had a really sub-standard performance in the end. We felt really disheartened, and shitty after everything ended. Gotta work hard from now on, especially me man.

After that, I met Karen at Parkway and I finally gave her her long-awaited treat to bubbletea. Because her bet was that I'd get B3 or better for A maths for the O's and I betted otherwise. So she won the bet in the end lah when I got B3 for it. And then after that we met Wan Ting at Bedok for popiah and rojak, where Elroy also joined us cause he was in the area.

Now my Saturdays will be occupied with choir! Which means no more sleeping in on Saturday ):
