TP Rawks!

The obvious delay in blog updates should be explained right now. I know it's like what, Thursday morning and I'm still stuck at last Thursday.

My explanation is: I've been enjoying a full 3 days at Tp Rawks!, this programme organised by Temasek Poly to get you to know their different Schools more and such. And yah, I did enjoy myself thoroughly.

I was there on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Every single day we got to experience what the different Schools in TP had to offer. The first day we were at IT, and yes, as the name suggests, it was terribly boring. And don't forget that we had Prom the night before (and I only slept at 5:30am that same morning) and we had to crawl out of bed to report at 8:30am. Karen and I were extremely late due to that, add on the early morning rush hour crappy traffic that involves buses that are packed like sardines, we eventually got there only at 9:30am.

Luckily the programme hadn't started and we'd arrived just in time for things to kick off. We were whisked away to IT and I only remember taking some weird Neoprint thingy from the computer's webcam. (Now this is considered kinda advanced you know, lol) and I also remember Karen dozing off a couple of times.

After lunch, they whisked us away, this time to do some Hip-hop routine. I really sucked at it, but anyhow, I think I tried my hardest, but the bodywave move still didn't work! And then was dragon boating, which was incredibly fun, considering that I had a really good spot in front of a dragon boater who scooped water down my back! We were all drenched and hyped up after that.

Then they did this Mass Dance which was incredibly fun too. I danced with Jia Yi, and I gave her a new name, Aliana, complete with dyed hair and the Hokkien to boot! Well, I'm supposed to be Bengson (Benson), and we've this whole Ah Beng Ah Lian joke going around thats really funny.

Day 2 was even better. We got to make (unuseable) pimple cream, cinnamon rolls (tastygoodstuff!) and got to stroke a rabbit at the School of Applied Science. And then we got to see the School of Design too. I was really impressed by what they had to offer lah.. and yes.. Doubting myself about taking the route to college again. Let me clarify that its not the influence from people and friends, not the persuasion of any TP students, but solely the attractiveness of the diploma in Visual Communications.

The best thing about this is that it's about Advertising and you get to choose Photography at one point. And I can totally see myself doing this, enjoying myself, and wanting to do my utmost to score well if I do that course. I just felt this certain assurance that all would be well if I took this route, and that I should seriously start re-considering all over again.

Now you might think that I just wanna go to TP and like that's because college is the harder route to take and TP is like the easy way out. This might be the general misconception that everybody might have, but I don't think it should be this way. And seniors tell me that I am the jc type. Now what exactly does that mean, may I ask? Does that mean I'm studious and I should be better off in a more study-oriented environment? I don't like books and I don't like studying, not one bit at all, but then again, who does?
I just feel like if I decide to go to poly, it should not be the easy way out and the good life kinda thing. I don't wanna choose that because it seems easier, it seems more convenient, like a bloody shortcut or something in that sense. Maybe I'm just not cut out for college? You never know do you... until you actually get into it?

But I foresee that I will enjoy college and whatever if I enter first three months. So yes, that will also be a deciding factor for where I'm gonna study for the next few years to come.

Okay back to the TP Rawks thing... Day 2 ended with a visit by Hady Mirza. It's the 3rd time I'm seeing him live, so no big deal! (Lol, I sound so proud!) Day 3 was a long long day. We did some Low elements and games in the morning, and my neck got sun tanned till it was really dark. And then we were at Engineering, which didn't exactly work out I dunno why. Oh and they brought us back to Electronics and the like. We were dealing with this circuit thing and I was doing it reluctantly (for Karen, lol)

It was hell boring, but I started this huge joke 'bout Tranny. It's kinda hard to explain, but it all started when we began to stick stickers on each other, and Xin Min got the English name "Tranny" from me. It was just a really random name which came up(those who were with me at Prom should know why), and I bluffed her that it meant "beautiful", "pretty" and the like. She believed me! Sigh, that naive girl. And it was so hilarious 'cos of all of us were conspiring to fool that gullible Xin Min. And then in the end some bugger had to reveal to her the real meaning of Tranny. And no more fun already.

That evening was the Jam and Hop thing. There were several rock bands which performed and lotsa boogie-ing. It was like a bigger, better, hotter Round 2 of Prom's dance. The dj was good and I really had fun, sweating buckets from all that vigorous grooving and jiving. I was very happy after that.

And then home, and it was a sad departure 'cos we really bonded much more with the pack leaders in charge of our red team on that last day. It was sad and we were gonna miss em too.
