My A Maths exam is in about 12 hours time, and I already feel like I've thrown it away! Argh, I've not started lah seriously. For those who know me better, you'd surely know that A Maths is the bane of my existence. I mean, it's actually gotten better in the past couple of months (like since June) but I still don't feel like I got the grip lah!
Anyways, I was at the Katong area today. And I brought Miss Karen to the Marine Parade library 'cos she didn't know how to walk there. We took bus 12 from my place and we had actually planned to breakfast at the old coffee shop/confectionary place best known for its kaya toasts and the like. But it was closed! So we settled for fried carrot cake for breakfast in the end. It was scrumptious! :D
And then we proceeded to the library at Marine Parade, which was just across the street. I brought Karen to the Kuo Chuan Avenue stretch, where I used to stay, and I have this thing about trying to recognise which terrace was the one I was actually in. I kept guessing, and then second-guessing. And finally I asked mum, and she told me it was terrace #32. Now they all look the same ya, so you can't blame me for not being able to recognise! I only knew the front gate was black and really short, and there was an old chiku tree which bore lotsa fruits every month or something.
The terrace house we used to live in belonged to my grandma's (dead) godfather. So we moved in temporarily before Melville was ready, so we had to settle in although it was really old and the heat inside made you really cranky. The ventilation was terrible, and the mosquitoes there are vampires! The place is more or less the same now.. More terraces have been white washed and spruced up, and a couple of 'em look really different though. I really enjoyed the days I had there. Maybe more on that next time, I'm getting tired. Ahh, nostalgia again.
I've kinda been reminiscing 'bout the places I used to reside in. From Marine Parade (the flat with the fabulous sea view and sea breeze) to Jalan Bukit Merah (my grandparent's) to Jurong (with Aunt Jo) and then to Kuo Chuan Avenue and finally now, in Simei. The odd - and possibly the smallest - 'town' in Singapore. I really don't wanna move anywhere else anymore.
