Yes! A trip to taiwan this december holiday season! Just mum, cheyenne and myself. Mum's been keeping herself busy, planning the itinerary all by herself and making sure that every single teeny-weeny detail is taken care of. We're doing it free and easy and mum's superb organisational skills would surely guarantee a perfect getaway for us! She's been doing tonnes of research and prying deep into internet forums to check out what others have been up to in taiwan so we can plan our schedule properly.
I think it'd be like 6 days of walking and eating and shopping, then eating some more, and then shopping again. Mum showed me the pics people have taken during their vacation in taiwan, mostly of food, and I tell you, the variety of food they have there is astounding. I just can't wait to get my hands on them and try every single thing out!
On the subject of food, I think its a tad embaressing, yet I would still like to confess, that I've been putting on weight recently. Okay, I don't know how recent, but yeah, like quite abruptly? I was a mere 55kg at the start of the year, but guess what - I'm 61kg now. I'm not saying its a bad thing, but I think its due to a change in lifestyle. Or something. Gone are the days when I used to gorge on fast food. And gone are the days that I actually exercised. I'm a lazier ass now, but the brighter side of things is that I've been keeping a tab on what enters my mouth and what doesn't. But the change is quite evident. As in, I can feel that sickly uncomfortable feeling whenever a certain morsel of *insert type of fast food* slides down my throat. I feel guilty, and then I feel disgusted. (sorry, fast food junkies like Hidayah! forgive me!)
Besides a changing diet, I think I've got more flab now. As in, more flesh and more - I don't know - mass? Haha! But I think I should really watch where the food ends up at. Whether it'll give me a perkier ass or a larger waistline. Me crosses me fingers and hopes it goes to the right places.
Okay. I shan't digress any further, before I start rambling on and on 'bout related issues such as kenny rogers or even the alleged discrimination against fat.
As I was saying, yeah, that trip to taiwan in december. I'd be returning on like christmas eve, so don't you dare think you can escape with one less present to give this year alright!
It was actually mum's idea to go to taiwan because I think she's been thinking 'bout going there since ages ago. We had a family discussion thingy that day to discuss where to go, but it turned out that dad's holiday schedule would clash with mum's and the best way out was for mum to just take us kids for the holiday. We had other ideas initially, like taking the spankingly-new qinghai-tibet railway that has been opened only just recently. It traces the route of the former silkroad and the train crosses the wilderness of china to tibet. That idea was the coolest thing ever but it was scraped off when dad's time didn't permit. He's been wanting to go to tibet since eons too but I guess we'd have to wait for some other time. (like, 2-3 years time)
Then someone suggested new zealand, since cheyenne hasn't been there before (gosh, time sure flies - its been 10 years since we've been there!) and someone suggested cambodia. Nobody seemed interested at one point, so the idea of having a family vacation was pretty much cancelled. It was only a few days after that mum decided that taiwan would be it and dad wasn't going with us.
I wonder if dad still remembers the india bagpacking trip that he promised me previously, on the condition that I aced my o levels. Well, I don't really know whats the minimum criterion, but I'm sure if I tried my best I'd be in india with him when he has time next year! I can't wait you know... to be on a bagpacking trip with nothing but your bag and a companion. In this case, a father would be good 'cos he's like the only adventurous soul around here. I still dream of seeing the beautiful taj mahal now, although they say its beauty has pretty much been diminished due to vandalism/pollution etc.
So many places to want to go, yet so little time, and so little money. Study for o levels first then say lah!
