Karen's 16th Birthday Bash

I've been wanting to blog about this for such a freaking long time but I haven't had the oppurtunity to all this while! So here it is now! Off my back, finally!

*

The day before Karen's Birthday, which was the 29th of May, we had a little stayover at my place. There was Melyssa, Taariq, Wan Ting, and of course, Karen! We were just hanging out in my room and talking, waiting for time to pass, waiting for 12 midnight to finally arrive.

Then at 12 sharp, Karen was already blindfolded with a bandana and her hands were bound up tightly with a leather belt. For a moment she looked like some bondage victim. And they killed the lights in my room, so it was pitch dark. So then we brought in a Mango Cake, candles lit up and sang a song for her.

I guess she saw that coming, but there was definitely an element of surprise lah. Then we presented her with her presents. Lotsa orange stuff: Mel gave an orange notebook, Ting gave an orange tote and an orange novel, I gave her an orange water bottle. Taariq hadn't gotten her a present yet, and Eirene wasn't around that night. Well, Eirene did call at 12 midnight and listened in to our celebration. She was just a phone. Haha!

Anyways, then after eating up the Mango Cake, Ting had to head home, while the remaining four of us had our very own Dai Di Night in my bedroom. From 1am we played till about 5am. And we had a scorecard (thats still around) to keep track of our standings and all. Mel's the pro-est of all lah okay. After too many rounds of dai di, we started to listen to songs, and the 3 of them started to dance. I was just changing tracks for them and Mel did some Lyrical thing which was so damn real. And they tried to do other dances, as seen on So you think you can dance. Had a really great time laughing at them, especially Mel who was so damn high.

We ended up sleeping at 6am and woke at 7am to bathe and go to school for the Career Guidance Seminar. We were told to dress up for the event but we didn't do that 'cos it'd have been such a hassle and all. There were quite a number of people who looked really smart and all, and of course there were people who just looked wrong no matter how hard they tried. And there was this guy who wore suspenders with a belt. Dumb shit. I think he's really a victim of trying too hard to dress to impress.

Anyway the seminar went by quickly enough, and we left for Marina after that. Another surprise lay in wait for Karen, but she didn't know our plans!
This time we were short of Ting, but Rene joined us.

So again, we blindfolded Karen, and tried to confuse (and embaress) her along the way to Sakae. She didn't know we were heading there and we kept her blindfolded the entire time.

We told her to guess where we were at, but she couldn't. She thought we were at some playground or something, and Mel was so mean to feed her some wasabi thing. For a moment, I thought Karen was about to cry already.

Then finally she guessed correct, that we were at Sakae. And her blindfolds were removed. And so we tucked in to the scrumptious food available on the conveyor belt! We had the buffet thing and we ate so much together man, we were so bloated after that. But the food that rolled out were really good!

Look at the amount of plates of sushi that we attacked man. We also had a free bowl of Udon each. There really was so much to eat!
