it was the last day of school and the weekend before the holidays! we had to go out.
so we planned to meet at like 6pm but only ended up getting together finally at close to 7pm. hahah, what Eirene would call L.A.U. - "Late As Usual" - even though she was the one who persisted on going out in a purchased $5 Hangten tee in the eleventh hour! and the random bitching and joking on the way to town garnered unwanted attention in the MRT, especially when the commuters were all by themselves, and stoning away their time, and we were the only rowdy ones amongst them all.
i didn't even know taking a picture like this could attract us so much attention. maybe its just Karen's constipated face that got em distracted lah. so we got off finally amidst all the hustle and bustle, leaving a trail of unwanted glares and stares at our obnoxious-ness at City Hall. took Citylink all the way to Marina Square where we settled for foodcourt dinner since we were all low on budget and the like..
the huge foodcourt, albeit being large in size, was kinda packed with people and we couldn't find a table that was free to sit. sickening, and our stomachs were growling. till now, i still don't get why individual diners actually like to take up two-some or four-some seats, which are so clearly meant for more people. isn't it?
we found a seat finally, much to our relief, and set out to buy our dinners. we were all back before Karen, and for a moment then, we were contemplating whether she was lost in the huge foodcourt and couldn't find her way back or not. here's a rude shot of her eating her Kimchi Ramen, which she bought after enduring a really long queue .. and one from a really awkward (but nice) angle. Karen loves Kimchi Ramen!
acting cute. acting cute. acting cute. acting cute. acting cute. not cute. after dinner we headed off to the newly-opened TopShop and TopMan cos Mel and Karen wanted to try on clothes. Eirene had already gone home cos she had to.. :( we were walking around and there's Nike and Adidas in there too. we were in the changing room taking photos of ourselves. weird. and we later found out that guys were not allowed there cos it was a female changing room. later, we were chased out by the staff!
we then headed down to Secret Recipe for their cakes. :)
look at the selection, pure indulgence man. if only i could have a slice of each!
i had the white chocolate macademia one on the right corner, Karen and Taariq had the bananas and chocolate one, and Mel had the mango one. i still think mine tastes the best!
what happens after a food fight involving some whipped cream...Mel started it. i retaliated thereafter.
we left Secret Recipe and we managed to see this rehearsel for a runway show at Marina the very next day. they had some smoke-like thingy that suspended in the air and remained for awhile, no dry ice! it made the entire scene really cool. and the lights were great too. we were making comments on each and every one of the models and assesing them for their walk, poise, height etc etc etc. for once, we felt like Nole from Top Model.
Karen and i were just saying, lets aim to get clothes that we design up on such a runway one day. we'd be bloody proud of ourselves ; famous overnight. ha! but for now, some amateur modelling from our very own wannabes! they're not bad, really!
